Note: As of June 2021 - Microsoft 365, not Hawkmail, became official university email system for all students (as it already has been for faculty and staff). This article is kept for legacy purposes - or for those who still have Hawkmail.
Hawkmail accounts are still being created for a limited group of students taking certain courses within the School of Education. If you are in one of those courses, you can access Hawkmail by any of the following methods:
- Via a web browser - go to gmail.com and login with your full @hawkmail.newpaltz.edu address
- Via the Gmail app on Android or iPhone
- Via the Mail app on iPhone
Your Hawkmail account is a Gmail account, so if you already have a Gmail account you will need to add your Hawkmail to your Gmail sign in page.
- Go to Gmail and sign out of your personal account.
- At the login window select "Add account" at the bottom.
- Enter your Hawkmail address [username@hawkmail.newpaltz.edu]
- Enter your newpaltz user password and sign in.
Next time you can select which email account you want to log into.
